Week 10 Posts

I want to thank all of you for an excellent quarter. I've truly enjoyed discussing Native American literatures with all of you and hearing or reading your interpretations of these texts. I hope that you have learned at least as much as I have over the course of the quarter. To put our course in perspective, most of this week's prompts are retrospective. Some are prospective. This is the time to look back over all of the discussions we have had and the texts we've read this quarter and think about what you'll take away from the course.

Prompt 1: Of all of the texts we've read (or watched, counting Smoke Signals) which is the text that will stick with you the most? Why? What will you take away from this text?

Prompt 2 (recycled): If you could have a cup of coffee with any of the writers we have encountered this quarter, who would you choose to meet? What would you want to talk about? What questions would you ask? Why? Feel free to write an imaginary interview with this writer.

Prompt 3: What are some of the main ideas that you will take away from this course? What questions do you have lingering about Native American literatures? How do you think you could go about answering these questions?

Prompt 4: Write a review of Smoke Signals. What did you find most interesting or surprising about the film?

As always, feel free to make up and respond to your own prompt or to bring up a previous prompt.
